Inconel 800 are nickel-iron-chromium alloys with good strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization in high-temperature exposure. These nickel steel alloys are identical except for the higher level of carbon in alloy 800H, and the addition of up to 1.20 percent aluminum and titanium in alloy 800HT. Inconel 800 was the first of these alloys and it was slightly modified into Inconel 800H. This modification was to control carbon (.05-.10%) and grain size to optimize stress rupture properties. Inconel 800HT has further modifications to the combined titanium and aluminum levels (.85-1.20%) to ensure optimum high temperature properties. The nickel alloy is dual certified (800H/HT) and combines the properties of both forms. Inconel 800H/HT alloy was intended for high temperature structural applications. The nickel content makes the alloys highly resistant to both chloride stress-corrosion cracking and to embrittlement from precipitation of sigma phase. The general corrosion resistance is excellent. In the solution annealed condition, alloys 800H and 800HT have superior creep and stress rupture properties. Today, most suppliers, including Mega Mex, only carry the dual certified 800H/HT alloy.
Inconel 800 is primarily used in applications with temperatures up to 1100° F, where alloys 800H and 800HT are normally used in temperatures above 1100° F where resistance to creep and rupture is required. The chemical balance allows the nickel steel alloy to exhibit excellent resistance to carburization, oxidation and nitriding atmospheres. Inconel 800HT will not become embrittled even after long periods of usage in the 1200-1600° F range where many stainless steels become brittle. Excellent cold forming characteristics typically associated with the nickel-chromium alloys are exhibited with 800HT. When cold formed extensively the grain size produces a visibly undulated surface called “orange peel”. Inconel 800HT can be welded by the common techniques used on stainless steels.

The alloys nickel base, in concurrence with substantial content of element chromium, provides resistance to the Inconel Alloy 601 Hollow Bar against many corrosive media even in environments, where the temperatures are often elevated. The Inconel Werkstoff Nr. 2.4851 Round Rod also has good resistance to corrosion against aqueous medium. Other value added properties of the Alloy 601 Inconel Cold Drawn Bar include its high mechanical strength, ease in formability, good machinability and good weldability.
This nickel based alloy produced in the form of rounds, squares, hexagons, rectangles as well as Alloy 601 Uns N06601 Cold Finished Bar apart from cold- worked wire, have been covered in the ASTM B166 specification. This particular specification covers both hot finished and cold worked components such as the Astm B166 Inconel 601 Flat Bar.
The material for 2.4851 Inconel Hexagon Bars is required to conform to the composition limits that have been specified in a reference material. The ASTM B166 specified Alloy 601 Nickel Spring Steel Bar must not only be uniform in quality and condition, but should also be smooth, commercially straight or flat, while being free of injurious imperfections. Mechanical properties of the Alloy Inconel 601 Hot Rolled Bar such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness are to be determined by conducting tests like tension and hardness tests.

The limiting chemical composition of Inconel alloy 617 wires The high nickel and chromium contents make the alloy resistant to a variety of both reducing and oxidizing media. The aluminum, in conjunction with the chromium, provides oxidation resistance at high temperatures. Solid-solution strengthening is imparted by the cobalt and molybdenum.
The combination of high strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures over 1800°F (980°C) makes INCONEL alloy 617 an attractive material for such components as ducting, combustion cans, and transition liners in both aircraft and land-based gas turbines. Because of its resistance to high-temperature corrosion, the alloy is used for catalyst-grid supports in the production of nitric acid, for heat-treating baskets, and for reduction boats in the refining of molybdenum. INCONEL alloy 617 also offers attractive properties for components of power-generating plants, both fossilfueled and nuclear.

Inconel 625 is a corrosion and oxidation resistant nickel alloy that is used both for its high strength and outstanding aqueous corrosion resistance. Its outstanding strength and toughness is due to the addition of niobium which acts with the molybdenum to stiffen the alloy’s matrix. Alloy 625 has excellent fatigue strength and stress-corrosion cracking resistance to chloride ions. This nickel alloy has excellent weldability and is frequently used to weld AL-6XN. This alloy resists a wide range of severely corrosive environments and is especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Some typical applications Inconel 625 is used in are chemical processing, aerospace and marine engineering, pollution-control equipment, and nuclear reactors.
